Job title:  Wealth manager

Department: Wealth management

Reporting to: Head of Business Development / Management Committee

Job purpose:

To provide advice and services, working with individuals, families and businesses to help clients better understand their financial circumstances and how to reach their short-term and long-term financial objectives.

Key responsibilities and scope of role:

  • To act as clients’ principal wealth manager and adviser providing support and education on all financial matters, providing the necessary advice, guidance and reassurance to them in achieving their longer-term financial goals
  • Work with other professionals, ensuring the clients’ plans are implemented efficiently and effectively
  • Develop individual client strategies and plans aligned to their specific goals and objectives
  • Work closely with a team of administrators ensuring all recommendations, client records and management information is maintained and up to date
  • To maintain currently levels of business ensuring customers are given the level of service as identified during their initial or review meetings
  • Ensure that opportunities for new business are identified and followed up
  • Advise clients on appropriate products and services aligned to their needs
  • Share best practices with other wealth managers across the business
  • Stay up to date and ahead of industry trends and where practical share these with other wealth managers to ensure the business is at the forefront of the market
  • Ensure competency is achieved and maintained across the advice and services processes

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum of a full A-Level Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) Examination – M5, M8, M8A, M9, M9A and Health Insurance is required
  • Any other financial planning courses will be considered as an advantage

Experience required:

  • Financial services experience essential
  • Commercially astute with excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage and influence

Key function holder:

  • To ensure competency is achieved in all aspects of the role and to behave in a manner that is compliant with MAS and regulatory practice

Position: Senior IT Executive

Department: IT

Reporting to: Head of IT

Job purpose:

To deliver IT End User Support to all AAM staff and be responsible for numerous IT systems and other associated work activity.

Key responsibilities and scope of role:

  • Provide all levels of End User support
  • SME in one or more technologies (Windows, Mac, Mobile, CRM, Microsoft 365, Databases)
  • Effectively interfaces with executive level staff and\or their administrative teams to understand the issues they are experiencing, and perform diagnostic procedures to isolate and resolve the issues
  • Participates in service improvement meetings and works closely other support groups on improving services and reducing incidents
  • Escalate or work in tangent with appropriate support specialists or support groups on unresolved issues
  • Escalate hardware repairs to third party providers as needed
  • Maintains call records/logs and resolution detail utilising case management solution, Remedy
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with management to express ideas in order to make informed decisions.
  • Installation of workstation, telephony, video and mobile hardware/software as required
  • Maintain 100% accuracy/control in the asset database of deployed assets, recording/updating as needed
  • Communicate and provide knowledge transfer to other agents/technicians on issues/problems and resolution
  • Work with other support groups such as network operations, in assisting in the resolution of incidents or maintenance activities
  • Interprets business issues and recommends best practices
  • Responsible for activities of functional area without direct reports, but may be called on to direct the team\project as needed
  • Solves complex problems taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions

Key skills:

  • Ability to support, and explain technical concepts to users at various levels of technical proficiency

Qualifications required:

Diploma or Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Information Systems or equivalent

Experience required:

  • Min 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Position: Investment Analyst

Department: IRT

Reporting to: Head of IRT

Job purpose:

Investment Analysts provide support to Investment Research Team and Wealth Managers on investments and related internal processes.

Key responsibilities and scope of role:

1) Assisting Wealth Managers and support staff with all things investment related, including:

  • Portfolio performance and risk data
  • Investment fund marketing documentation
  • Provision of specific information

2) Construction of non-standard portfolios:

  • Construction of portfolios which sit outside the model portfolios and below minimum portfolios
  • Non-standard requests
  • Core/Satellite portfolios
  • Constructing portfolios for newly approved products
  • Building templates in Excel and other systems
  • Working closely with other departments to improve investment proposition

3) System updates

  • Ensuring the accuracy of investment related data
  • Updating AAM Satellite fund list, AIL etc.
  • Producing due diligence documents for new funds
  • Updating and maintaining IRT’s intranet

4) Assisting in the production of quarterly documentation. This may include:

  • Quarterly Commentaries
  • Performance Chart Book
  • Data Report
  • Flipchart

5) Portfolio Changes

  • Assisting in the management of 200 model portfolios
  • Working with relevant departments to ensure portfolio changes are processed

Key skills:

  • Investment research experience
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Keeping updated with changes in the regulation
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are required
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
  • Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership
  • Willingness to progress knowledge and obtain further qualifications

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in Business, Economics, Finance and with CFA or CAIA will be considered as an advantage
  • 5+ years research and portfolio management experience, including manager due diligence
  • Experience with Alternative Investments
