Job title: Senior Wealth Manager and Team Head

Department: Wealth management

Reporting to: Head of Business Development / CEO

Job purpose:

As Team Head, to support and build a team of Wealth Managers whose primary focus is on providing bespoke advice to Singaporean clients.

As a Senior Wealth Manager work with individuals, families and businesses to help clients better understand their financial circumstances and how to reach their short-term and long-term financial objectives.

Key responsibilities and scope of role:

  • Acquire, develop and maintain a portfolio of clients while adopting a needs-based advisory approach to identify all clients’ financial needs and priorities
  • Analyse clients’ financial status by meeting with them to determine their assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status and financial objectives, developing financial plan based on the analysis of financial and personal information, and discussions around financial options with clients
  • Develop and implement financial plans for individuals, utilising knowledge of investment strategies, insurance and retirement planning
  • Prepare and submit documents to implement all plan(s) recommended and selected by clients
  • Maintain contact with client to revise plans based on changing needs or relevant changes in investment market conditions
  • Maintain and grow knowledge to be current with market trends and the evolving regulatory landscape by attending training courses internally/externally while fulfilling the prescribed CPD hours

Key responsibilities and scope of role:

  • To act as clients’ principal wealth manager and adviser providing support and education on all financial matters, providing the necessary advice, guidance and reassurance to them in achieving their longer-term financial goals
  • Work with other professionals, ensuring the clients’ plans are implemented efficiently and effectively
  • Develop individual client strategies and plans aligned to their specific goals and objectives

About the role:

As a Business Development Executive, you’ll work alongside an experienced wealth manager responsible for warm lead follow up and leads generation. You’ll also help us deliver our business development sales targets by communicating with people via email, LinkedIn, the phone and, occasionally, face-to-face, with a view to scheduling a meeting with one of our team. And, when it comes to effective workflow/database management and keeping accurate records, again, we’ll count on you to deliver. Generating leads, keeping abreast of trends in the market and seeking ways of improving how we do things – you’ll get to do all of this, and more.

About you:

It really is a great opportunity to learn aspects of AAM’s financial planning proposition and develop the necessary technical and market awareness knowledge to assist our wealth managers. As well as the ability to provide quality customer service, you’ll need a strong eye for detail and be comfortable working under pressure, as well as to targets and deadlines. About the role:

As a PA, you will often act as the Wealth Managers first point of contact with people from both inside and outside the organisation. Tasks are likely to include:

  • devising and maintaining office systems, including data management and filing;
  • screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate;
  • meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority;
  • organising and maintaining diaries and making appointments;
  • dealing with incoming email, faxes and post, often corresponding on behalf of the manager;
  • carrying out background research and presenting findings;
  • producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations;
  • organising and attending meetings and ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings;
  • liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff.

In addition to supporting managers, their team and departments, many PAs also have their own personal workload and responsibilities. The scope of the PA’s role can be extensive and additional duties may include:

  • carrying out specific projects and research;

Position: Compliance Manager

Department: Risk & Compliance

Reporting to: Head of Risk & Compliance

Job purpose:

  • To act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer
  • To act as Data Protection Officer
  • To work closely with the Head of Risk & Compliance and proactively support with the provision of compliance oversight, assurance, and advice to all relevant business areas including the Board; ensuring that all regulatory developments, risks, and reports are considered. This includes the provision of second line challenge as appropriate.
  • The role holder will have a strong understanding of all relevant regulations, requirements, and guidance and will use that understanding to guide the business with the understanding of regulatory and business risks to fulfill regulatory and business obligations and requirements.

Key responsibilities and scope of role:

With a strong understanding of all aspects of the prevention of financial crime, the role holder will act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO), including the review and onward submission (as appropriate) of Suspicious Transaction Reports to competent authorities and escalation of any financial crime matters through the appropriate channels. The DMLRO has the authority to act independently and autonomously of the MLRO. With strong knowledge of data protection requirements, to act as Data Protection Officer for the Company and be the focal point of contact for data protection enquiries and incidents. Ensure that the business is compliant with all relevant data protection legislation, requirements, and Policies and driving and embedding a compliant data protection framework within the organisation. Including but not limited to the following:

  • Ensuring compliance with the above requirements when developing and implementing policies and processes for handling personal data
  • Fostering a data protection culture among employees and communication of personal data protection policies to stakeholders
  • Managing data protection related queries and complaints
  • Ensure management are made aware of any risks that might arise with regards to data protection matters and provision of proactive guidance in order to mitigate those risks
  • Liaison with the PDPC on data protection matters as and when necessary

To be instrumental in the development and embedding of the Risk Management Framework within the organisation, including appropriate and effective review and challenge of risks and controls and provision of relevant reporting that effectively and accurately reflects the risk environment.

Ensure that relevant risks, risk events, controls, and actions are recorded and monitored through the Risk Management System so that any exposures to risks and risk events can be managed and mitigated as appropriate.

Proactive engagement with relevant areas is required to drive and embed a positive risk culture.

Provide support and assistance to the Head of Risk & Compliance as required, and to be instrumental in the delivery of the Compliance Plan and ensuring the Risk & Compliance function provides effective 2nd line guidance and support to the 1st line.

To undertake activities as defined by the Head of Risk & Compliance to ensure the 1st line effectively embed relevant regulations and policies in business-as-usual activity.

Proactively monitor and review regulatory developments ensuring that relevant stakeholders receive notification and guidance of the same.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge; this can be through channels such as attendance at educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and review and understanding of regulatory developments.

Be the main provision of support to junior members of the Function to help build an effective risk and compliance team.

Provide the correct technical and commercial interpretation of the applicable regulatory requirements as they relate to the organisation and its business activities. Ability to articulate both the customer and business impacts and proactively work with the business to understand the operational impact and ultimately deliver to and in partnership with the business a compliant but commercial solution.

Promote a positive compliance and risk aware culture within the organisation and provide appropriate second line challenge where appropriate.

Qualifications required:

Preferably a graduate with numerate, business related or analytical based degree. Should hold a relevant financial service-related qualification.

Experience required:

Experience across all Risk & Compliance related disciplines within the finance sector. Good technical knowledge of Compliance, Regulatory, and Legislative requirements, predominantly from a Singapore perspective.

Excellent knowledge of financial products and industry practice.
